Merkel® Rotomatic M 15
Double-acting PTFE rod seal for pivoting motions in hydraulic equipment, particularly for use in hydraulic joints and rotary feedthroughs. Low friction and without stick-slip.
It is the combination of operating conditions that put rotary and swivel seals to the test. They must withstand pressure loads similar to those in hydraulic cylinders; in some cases even in combination with translatory movement. But rotary and swivel seals in particular are under pressure and the accompanying operating temperatures must be mastered. In addition, if the mechanism is stationary, the pressure load is often maintained. The high performance of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies Rotary and Swivel Seals is impressive – even under a static load.
In a hydraulic cylinder, the incoming and outgoing rod in the seal area provides a cooling element for a balanced temperature. But the amount of the thermal load is crucial in the selection of a seal suitable for rotary feedthroughs (Fig. 1). That is because heat can only be discharged to a limited degree across the structure and the operating medium. As a result, the frequency of rotary movements is restricted under operating pressures.
Freudenberg Sealing Technologies offers Rotary and Swivel Seals suited to a wide variety of applications. We would be glad to advise you.
